Summary:
Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is currently seeking Medical Scheduler candidates to join our OB/GYN team! This position will work full-time 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

- Day shift schedules are Monday through Friday. There are occasional voluntary four (4) hour shifts on Saturday mornings from 8 am - 12 pm for several primary clinics (Family Medicine and Pediatrics).
- Experience working in both primary care and specialty care clinics.
Job Duties:
- Answers the telephone by the third ring when possible, identifying name and department. Addresses scheduling needs in a friendly, efficient manner.
- Repeats provider’s name, the date, time of the appointment, and location of appointment before completing the call. Promptly and courteously notifies patients of a provider’s absence and/or delays as needed.
- When placing call on hold, politely asks the caller to hold and waits for an affirmative response before placing the caller on hold.
- When transferring a call, informs caller to whom and where the call is being transferred if at all possible.
- Performs forward/unforward functions of department phones to and from the Answering Service according to Telephone System protocol. Ensures successful completion.
Required Experience:
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain phone etiquette using tact and diplomacy.
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Must possess strong grammar and spelling ability as well as the ability to read, write and understand the English language.
- Neat, well-groomed appearance and courteous manner.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance, preferred.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates Degree or some college coursework in Business or Healthcare Administration, preferred.
Experience
- Two (2) years of previous work experience involving public contact, preferably with heavy phone experience, desired.
- Previous experience with patient scheduling in a hospital or clinic setting, highly desired.
- Bi-lingual ability (Spanish), a plus.
- $16.69 - $21.70/hour; depending on experience
