What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Paraprofessional - Head Start/Preschool position at Bourbon County Preschool Head Start?
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or Equivalent
REPORTS TO: Head Start - Preschool Director / Lead Teacher
SUPERVISES: Not Applicable
JOB GOAL: To work closely, under the supervision of the teacher, to ensure a maximum positive input on the instructional programs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Have a physical examination and T.B. skin test. Physicals paid for by Bourbon County Board of Education at local Health Department.
- Make instructional materials and aids.
- Assist lead teacher in all activities.
- Assist in conducting children to and from lunchroom and help with lunchroom supervision.
- Run errands and other miscellaneous chores.
- Record all attendance.
- Keep lunch records for classroom.
- Help plan and coordinate center activities.
- Help keep classroom safe and clean.
- Will have or work towards a Child Associates Degree after requirements are met. Must obtain within two years of employment.
- Shall participate annually in a minimum of 18 hours of professional development.
- Other duties as assigned by Head Start - Preschool Director or Superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary, benefits and work year to be established by Board approved schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually.
