The Bousquet Holstein 1L Summer Program provides an outstanding law student with a demonstrated commitment to an inclusive community with training and mentorship geared towards building strong skills for the legal profession. The program runs for approximately 10 weeks and affords a student a paid opportunity to work alongside attorneys in both offices (Syracuse and Ithaca) and in all of the firm’s practice areas. The student will also participate in firm events and activities, as well as community-wide events attended by attorneys and professional staff of the firm.
Eligibility:
Candidates must:
- be a full-time student in good standing in their first year of law school at an ABA-accredited law school.
- demonstrate a commitment to our core beliefs through life and work experiences.
Application Materials:
Applicants interested in our 1L Summer Program must submit the following materials in PDF format to skasmarek@bhlawpllc.com on or before January 17, 2025:
- a current resume;
- a typed personal statement of 1,000 words or less highlighting your community engagement, life experiences, and any other contributions that have fostered diversity, inclusion and excellence.
- A fall semester law school transcript. We encourage candidates to submit the grades that are available at the time of application submission, even if all grades have not yet posted. A complete transcript should be submitted to Ms. Kasmarek once available.
Process:
The hiring committee will review applications and select candidates for interviews. Initial interviews will be conducted via Zoom between January 21st and January 24th with call backs occurring in-person at one of our offices the week of January 27th.
After reviewing application materials and conducting interviews, the selection committee will choose the candidate that best demonstrates a commitment to our core beliefs.
Future Employment with Bousquet Holstein:
Employment through the 1L Summer Program is limited to the summer 2025 program, however we encourage all applicants for the 1L Summer Program, whether selected or not, to also consider applying for our 2L Summer Associate Program once the application is open.
Salary: $3,461.54 biweekly.
