A growing bank located in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Accounting Supervisor to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations, and journal entries. This is a newly created role designed to add extra layers of support to the CFO and future Controller as the bank continues to grow. The position provides an excellent opportunity for career advancement within the accounting department. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in banking accounting, GAAP, and financial reporting.
Accounting Supervisor Responsibilities :
- Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End Close : Manage and execute closing processes
- Perform and review reconciliations for all types of financial accounts, including the general ledger and other key accounts
- Process approximately 15 journal entries per month, including adjusting and correcting entries
- Prepare financial statements, regulatory reports, and internal management reports ensuring compliance with GAAP and banking regulations
- Ensure all accounting practices align with banking regulations and financial reporting standards
- Maintain and analyze Excel spreadsheets to track financial data, trends, and forecasting
- Identify opportunities to enhance accounting workflows, policies, and procedures
- Oversee and mentor two team members
- Administer trust investment, securities functions, bank insurance, and risk management portfolio
- Work closely with the CFO, Controller, and other departments to ensure financial accuracy and transparency
