Commercial Litigation Attorney Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in California
- 3-7 years of litigation experience
- Proven track record in depositions and complex discovery
- A highly motivated and proactive approach, with a dedication to excellence and a competitive edge suited for a dynamic team environment
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the capability to anticipate potential challenges and develop effective solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex legal arguments and effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and courts
- High level of organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in legal research and technology tools, including Lexus Nexus and West Law, to enhance case preparation and efficiency
- Commitment to ethical legal practice and maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Handle 15-25 active cases, with 2-3 attorneys assigned to larger cases and a partner-associate structure on smaller cases
- Manage cases from A to Z, including trial preparation, discovery, and trials, maintaining the highest standards in high-profile, public cases
- Act as the first chair in trials against some of the top attorneys in the country, leveraging persuasive courtroom skills and innovative strategies
- Conduct extensive depositions and lead complex discovery processes to secure critical evidence for case advancement
- Interact closely with clients, ensuring their objectives are met through diligent case handling and effective communication
- Participate in mediations, negotiations, and arbitrations, utilizing strong communication to achieve favorable resolutions
