Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 / year DOE
Associate Attorney Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel and representation for clients in various matrimonial and family law matters, including contested and uncontested divorce, child custody petitions, and prenuptial agreements
- Manage a caseload of 20-30 complex family law cases simultaneously
- Prepare and draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, agreements, and contracts
- Conduct legal research to ensure accuracy and relevance in representation
- Uphold strict client confidentiality and professional ethics
- Participate in continued legal education and workshops to stay current with legal developments
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality, client-centered service
- Bill 35 hours per week, with the opportunity for performance bonuses based on billable hours and referrals
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the New York State Bar
- Minimum of 3 years of experience exclusively in divorce and family law
- Strong knowledge of New York family law statutes, regulations, and legal principles
- Ability to manage 20-30 complex cases at once while delivering exceptional service
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom; experience with Clio is preferred but not required
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to clients experiencing emotionally charged legal matters
