Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and prepare accurate cost estimates. This role is crucial in ensuring that our projects are completed within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. The Estimator will work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to negotiate prices and manage costs effectively.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects.
- Build detailed cost models using estimating software to ensure accuracy in pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and timelines.
- Conduct site visits to assess construction sites and gather necessary data for estimating purposes.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices for materials and services.
- Monitor ongoing projects for cost control and provide updates on budget status.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining estimates, including breakdowns of labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Utilize project management software for document management and collaboration during the estimating process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, McCormick, etc.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in cost control processes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for presenting estimates clearly to stakeholders.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
