We service children from Preschool to School Age. In addition to caring for their basic needs and ensuring their safety, childcare workers teach crucial developmental skills and prepare children to be engaged, independent learners in the future. The childcare assistant will be responsible for assisting teachers in classroom management, age-appropriate activities and work directly with children in the classroom setting. The ideal candidate has experience in education-related fields, has strong interpersonal skills and is able to maintain a professional attitude in an upbeat, innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, scheduling and implementing the curriculum program for appropriate developmental experiences in the classroom.
- Provide care and supervision for assigned children.
- Maintain a physical environment conducive to children’s growth and development.
- Make daily observations of the health of children, reporting conditions which require attention.
- Assist in the maintenance of progress records on the emotional, physical, social and intellectual development of assigned children.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other career development and professional activities.
- Complete continuing education hours per State requirements each year.
- Maintain a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere for staff and children.
- Support family engagement and daily communication with families.
