Engineering Technician (Submarine Battery Inspector)

OverviewEngineering Technician -Submarine Battery Inspector (F3009 2025-22114) : Bowhead is seeking experienced Senior Engineering Technicians to serve as Submarine Battery Inspectors to support Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Power, Energy & Interconnect Technology Division (JXM). These candidates will work closely with a Department of Defense (DoD) organization in support of the inspection of Submarine Main Storage Battery (SMSB). ResponsibilitiesEssential functions will include : Submarine Main Storage inspections.Technical manual updates / revisionsPlanned Maintenance System (PMS) updates / revisionsLogistics research / tracking / updatingWriting submarine battery operating proceduresBattery performance troubleshootingBattery Management System (BMS) troubleshooting and repairUpdates to Fleet trainingBattery data review with on-site engineersParticipate in face to face meetings with NAVSEA sponsorsParticipate in installation / maintenance activities and meetings with battery vendors Other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School and four (4) years related experience and related advanced certification. Experience as an electricians mate, electronics technician or related field on a nuclear submarineIntermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPointAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contactsStrong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a teamPhysical Demands : Must be able to lift up to 25 poundsMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodicallySECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the secret level.
