Performance Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a current and sufficient academic knowledge of certified content areas to develop student knowledge and performance in those areas.
- Design and plan instruction that develops student abilities to use communication skills, apply core concepts, become self-sufficient individuals, become responsible team members, think and solve problems, and integrate knowledge.
- Create a learning climate that supports the development of student abilities to use communication skills, apply core concepts, become self-sufficient individuals, become responsible team members, think and solve problems, and integrate knowledge.
- Introduce, implement, and manage instruction that develops student abilities to use communication skills, apply core concepts, become self-sufficient individuals, become responsible team members, think and solve problems, and integrate knowledge.
- Assess learning and communicate results to students and others with respect to student abilities to use communication skills, apply core concepts, become self-sufficient individuals, become responsible team members, think and solve problems, and integrate knowledge.
- Use technology to support instruction; assess and manipulate data; enhance professional growth and productivity; communicate and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community; and conduct research.
- Reflect on and evaluate specific teaching and learning situations and/or programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other agencies to design, implement, and support learning programs that develop student abilities to use communication skills, apply core concepts, become self-sufficient individuals, become responsible team members, think and solve problems, and integrate knowledge.
- Evaluate her/her overall performance with respect to modeling and teaching Kentucky’s learning goals, refine the skills and processes necessary, and implement a professional development plan.
- Perform professional duties and provide professional leadership with the school, community, and education professional to improve student learning and well-being.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships within the school, community, and education profession to improve student learning and well-being.
- Participate in faculty meetings, team meetings, departmental meetings, committees, and the sponsorship of student co-curricular activities as assigned.
- Remain at school during the entire school day unless excused by the Principal for emergency reasons.
- Report any unusual occurrence or event to the Principal immediately (bomb threat, thefts, child abuse, harassment, etc.)
- Supervise students during in-class and out-of classroom activities during the assigned working day.
- Frequently stand and walk.
- Administer individual and group assessments in accordance with the district and school assessment program.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of students and staff.
- Adhere to the professional Codes of Ethics adopted by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board.
- Administer health services to students as necessary including, but not limited to, the administration of medication; the operation, maintenance, or health care through the use of medical equipment; or the administration of clinical procedures.
- Maintain appropriate professional appearance.
- Act as a consistent positive public relations agent for school and district programs and activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding individual students and their families.
- Implement and adhere to all rules and regulations, policies, administrative guidelines, and directives as adopted by the Board of Education, Principal, Administrative Staff, Superintendent and School Based Decision Making Council.
- Maintain acceptable personal attendance without repeated unexcused absences, tardiness, absences without notification, or abuse of sick leave.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Principal, Administrative Staff, or Superintendent.
