Job Summary: The Forklift Operator – Finished Goods (FG) is responsible for operating a forklift to move, relocate, stack and count ingredients, pouches, caps, materials and product. The FLOP - FG is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle, as well as maintaining accurate documentation and product placement to ensure continuous and efficient manufacturing operations.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Use forklift to efficiently move product from the warehouse to the correct production line/area for staging and/or storage to ensure that customers and production are receiving accurate product in a timely manner to ensure continuous and efficient operations.
- Efficiently stack and store the product in the appropriate areas.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and report any quality issues to supervisor.
- Assist in the monitoring and accurate maintenance of Company inventory, including participating in daily, monthly and annual inventory and cycle counts.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory by identifying, labeling and placing materials and supplies in correct locations, as well as accurate scan & system input.
- Assist in reviewing Pick Tickets based on MOs to ensure the correct raw materials are staged for each order.
- Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying from Production MO’s and/or batch sheets.
- Maintain process inventory which is to be delivered to the Production team.
- Practice First In, First Out and other inventory rotating practices to ensure product is not wasted.
- Practice all HACCP and OSHA required safety policies, including performing pre and post operation forklift inspection safety checklists.
- Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area, and assist in maintaining the security and overall cleanliness of the facility, to include Raw Materials.
- Other duties, as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- External Candidates: 6 months prior experience operating a forklift, including both stand up and sit-down lifts.
- Willing to complete a company provided forklift-training class.
- The ability to obtain a forklift certification within 5 days of placement within the FLOP 2 position.
- Ability to learn the company’s warehouse management system.
- External Candidates: Prior experience using a Radio Frequency Scanner (RF Scanner)
- Ability to learn and use the Company’s Radio Frequency Scanner (RF Scanner)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly.
- Willing to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrates the willingness and ability to use Process Improvement, Time and Safety Management, and Inventory Control systems to actively improve efficiencies and accuracy throughout the department.
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
- Willing to work occasional overtime, as required.
- Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A minimum of one (1) year prior experience operating a forklift, including stand up and sit-down lifts.
- Prior experience with S2K.
- A minimum of one (1) year prior experience working with an RF Scanner.
Working Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a teammate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The Forklift Operator - FG is required to work on the production floor and outside. While performing the duties of this job, the teammate frequently will be required to sit and stand, as well as being exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat and/or cold. The teammate continuously works near moving mechanical parts. The teammate will be exposed to loud noises from machinery and thus will be required to wear PPE. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be high at times due to mechanical equipment noise.
The teammate will regularly need to lift up to 75 pounds and is required to get on and off a forklift regularly.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the teammate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms; see, talk and /or hear. The teammate will be required to lift, climb, bend, stoop and crouch.
