This position will have regional responsibility for facilities in Dallas TX and Rialto CA. Travel between the two facilities monthly for one week each month. The position can be in either location.

This role is on-site in either facility location. We do offer flexible scheduling.

The Human Resources Manager will organize and coordinate office administration and procedures, to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and safety. This role is responsible for developing intra-office communication protocols, streamlining human resource procedures, including hiring and interviewing staff and, general employee relations providing HR guidance and when appropriate enforcing company policies and practices, external facing for temporary staffing agencies, and providing coaching/counseling at all employee levels.

The ideal candidate for this role is an energetic professional who likes to wear multiple hats, helps with leadership problem-solving, and drives success across the facility. Experience in handling a wide range of human resources and administrative duties, and the ability to work independently with little or no supervision is required. This candidate should also be well organized, flexible, and enjoy the administrative and human resource challenges of supporting two warehouse locations of diverse people.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Directs activities and functions to maintain efficiency and compliance with company policies.
  • Maintains records, documentation, and files, particularly more complex or sensitive files such as employee files.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers or site leaders to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts and manages new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including, leave of absence/FMLA; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management, recognition, and morale.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries that can be complex and/or sensitive from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Consult with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides support and management of company Benefits and HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Some travel will be required to regional facilities but is typically planned well in advance.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Spanish is a plus)
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.

  • Thorough knowledge of state employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems (Paycom is a plus).
  • Maintains records, documentation, and files, particularly more complex or sensitive files such as employee files.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies. (experience with CA employment law is a preferred)
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organizations hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Basic understanding of how to operate standard business equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience in a warehouse/plant environment resolving complex employee relations issues. Prior experience in a startup or high-growth organization preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential..
  • Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least one year of human resource management experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
