Job Overview : Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead a variety of electrical construction projects. This role involves overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with all national and local regulations, and providing regular progress updates to management. Key responsibilities include budgeting, organizing, implementing, and scheduling projects.
Objectives of this Role :
Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
Prepare and manage estimates, budgets, timetables, and resources.
Ensure all construction activities align with established timelines and budgets.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Provide direction to maintain quality standards.
Liaise with engineers, architects, and other project participants.
Identify, mitigate, and track recurring construction issues.
Key Responsibilities :
Regularly visit construction sites for bid walks, preconstruction walks, in-progress visits, punch walks, and closeouts.
Attend status and coordination meetings.
Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections.
Respond efficiently to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions.
Coordinate and direct employees and subcontractors.
Ensure contractual conditions of performance are met.
Monitor daily work progress.
Prepare internal and external reports on job status.
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
5-12 years’ experience as a construction manager for commercial / electrical projects.
Strong analytical skills for cost management and minimizing waste.
Excellent communication skills to lead a diverse team.
Proven experience in construction management.
Comprehensive understanding of the construction process.
Familiarity with construction management software (Procure, Bluebeam).
Excellent time and project management skills.
Ability to delegate and train effectively.
Knowledge of construction methods and technologies.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts.
Knowledge of building-code requirements and scheduling methods.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on quality.
Enforce safety procedures, minimize risk, and ensure the use of PPE.
Must have good leadership skills.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications :
BS degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
Additional Information :
Average project size : $1-$10 million.
Salary : $90k-$120k.
Interview process : 2-3 interviews.
