About the Job: BoxLogix specializes in innovative material handling automation, offering customized solutions like robotics, AS/RS, and warehouse control systems to optimize operations in logistics and manufacturing. We are looking to add a Project Engineer to our growing Parcel team! The Project Engineer plans, directs, and coordinates the preparation of project documentation such as engineering drawings, equipment specifications, project schedules, proposals, equipment ordering, site work, and contract modifications. This position must ensure customer contract requirements are met.
Experience with material handling applications, strong technical aptitude with conventional conveyor and sortation systems, understanding of general controls equipment using PLC’s, and knowledge of OSHA standards is highly desirable. While the position lacks direct reports, it requires a candidate with strong leadership abilities and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities
• Plans, executes, and completes MH equipment projects involving structures, conveyors, machinery, and controls
• Writes detailed specifications and description of operations for projects
• Collaborates with an execution team to deliver industry leading automated systems
• Delivers subsystems on time, on budget, and tested to machine rate and reliability requirements
• Manages project financials and project resources, often in multiple locations
• Creates/ maintains a documented project plan and schedule. Keeps complete records of every project including a change log, action items, punch list, issues and risk monitoring logs
• Review contractual commitments, customer specifications, or related information for installation of MH handling equipment and processes
• Provides verbal and written updates to projects, including in-scope deliverables, project issues, and risks
• Read, understand, and follow safety and other company policies and procedures
Supervisory Responsibilities: Vendors and customer relationship with guidance to internal execution teams
Qualifications
• Associates degree in engineering, construction management or related field and/or equivalent work experience
• Past installation/project experience with conveyance and/or material handling equipment
• Ability to think critically and solve complex problems
• Ability to work as a part of a team and professionally interact with customers
• Knowledge of material handling, warehouse management systems (WMS), fulfillment or distribution center operations, and supply chain logistics
• Knowledge of automation projects involving machines, robotics, controls and software
• Knowledge of business accounting and contracts
• Ability to manage multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organization and collaborative skills
• Ability to work as a part of a team and professionally interact with customers
• Software requirements include general AutoCAD proficiency and Microsoft suite
