We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled professional to join our team as a Facilities Specialist. This role focuses on maintaining and repairing greenhouse systems and controlled environment chambers (e.g., Conviron growth chambers), as well as supporting general facilities operations at our plant research institute. The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrical work, HVAC systems, and refrigeration, with certifications or licenses in these areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on greenhouse systems and growth chambers, ensuring optimal operation.
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, HVAC systems, and refrigeration equipment.
- Collaborate with the Building Coordinator to address comprehensive building maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to service requests, ensuring minimal disruption to lab operations.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, equipment repairs, and system upgrades.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency and reliability of systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and assist in the development of safety protocols.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, HVAC systems, or controlled environment systems.
- Electrician and/or Refrigeration licenses required.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with greenhouse systems and growth chamber equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical certifications preferred.
