We are looking for a Talent Acquisition & Engagement Specialist to join our HR Department and oversee our full cycle recruiting and engagement functions. To be successful in this role, you will be responsible for recruiting candidates through various channels, planning, interview and selection procedures, hosting or participating in career events, and actively engaging with high schools, two-year colleges, four-year universities, local construction associations, and other community organizations to build relationships and grow the Boyd Jones brand.

We are looking for a Talent Acquisition & Engagement Specialist to join our HR Department and oversee our full cycle recruiting and engagement functions. To be successful in this role, you will be responsible for recruiting candidates through various channels, planning, interview and selection procedures, hosting or participating in career events, and actively engaging with high schools, two-year colleges, four-year universities, local construction associations, and other community organizations to build relationships and grow the Boyd Jones brand.
Key Responsibilities…
- Collaborate and partner with managers to determine hiring needs. Work closely with hiring managers to understand their needs to identify the right talent and ensure goals are met.
- Strategically and proactively source passive and active candidates to build and maintain a quality talent pipeline for current and future workforce needs.
- Understand and anticipate internal and external labor market conditions.
- Identify recruiting sources, assess new talent, and develop new methods to attract talent.
- Serve as an ambassador for Boyd Jones when reaching out to candidates and interacting with partners.
- Perform phone interviews and facilitate in-person and virtual interviews, all the way through to candidate offer process.
- Manage candidate and hiring manager expectations to increase offer acceptance probability.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential candidates, as well as universities, colleges, local industry partners, and construction-related entities.
- Work closely with our Marketing Department to develop recruitment materials, social media posts, and other recruitment/engagement material.
- Propose and implement ongoing innovations and improvements to the recruitment process.
- Attend job fairs, college/university career fairs, and other engagement/recruiting activities to recruit talent and build network.
- Work to find additional ways to get Boyd Jones active in the construction industry and within the community.
- Create job postings, coordinate applicant tracking and candidate interviews.
- Coordinate pre-employment checks and assessments as required.
- Collaborate with talent team members to ensure company goals are achieved.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.
- Ability to build and maintain effective customer and professional relationships through strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship-building and consistent demonstration of solid professional judgment.
- Strong candidate experience delivery, screening, and sourcing skills.
- Knowledge of technologies that impact the recruiting industry.
- Sophisticated communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills with thorough attention to detail.
- Proficiency in the use of social media use, direct search methodologies, ATS, and Office.
- Ability to interact and engage with personnel at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong multitasking abilities, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Travel (Day and Night) during job & career fair seasons.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, Recruiter, or similar role.
- Preferred background in a retained search firm, agency, or corporation.
- Preferred experience within the construction industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
