Our dynamic, boutique law firm in Roseville, CA. (Greater Sacramento) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Employment Law Defense Attorney with 5 years of experience to join our dynamic Civil Litigation and Family Law practice in a Hybrid/Remote position. The ideal candidate will assist in handling a variety of employment law cases, looping in Senior Managing attorneys as needed. This position requires that you bring a healthy Book of Business to the firm and are skilled at continually bringing in new clients.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Case Preparation:** - Preparation and management of employment law litigation cases from inception to resolution.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case strategies.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Prepare exhibits, evidence, and witness testimony for trials.
2. **Client Representation:**
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations under the supervision of senior attorneys.
- Develop and present legal arguments effectively in court.
- Assist in negotiating settlements and drafting settlement agreements.
3. **Client Communication:**
- Meet with clients to discuss their cases, explain legal procedures, and provide updates on case progress.
- Address clients’ questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
4. **Collaboration and Team Support:**
- Work collaboratively with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and successful outcomes.
- Participate in team meetings and case strategy sessions.
5. **Legal Research and Analysis:**
- Conduct thorough legal research using various resources and databases.
- Analyze case law, statutes, and regulations to provide legal advice and develop case strategies.
6. **Compliance and Ethics:**
- Ensure all legal work complies with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the utmost care.
**Qualifications:**- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be an active member in good standing with the California State Bar Association.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law litigation (including some trial experience).
- Book of Business to bring to the firm; excellent client recruitment skills.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools and Clio case management software.
