**Position Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled, certified and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our Family Law Department. The successful candidate will assist attorneys with a variety of tasks, including case preparation, client communications, document drafting, and legal research. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to handle sensitive information, and the aptitude to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Case Management:**
- Assist in the preparation and management of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and other related matters.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all necessary documents are included in the client’s file and case management system.
- Track and manage case deadlines, prepare status reports, and keep attorneys informed of case progress.
2. **Document Preparation:**
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including petitions, motions, affidavits, discovery requests and responses, agreements, orders, and subpoenas.
- Review and organize discovery materials, exhibits, and other documents required for court hearings and trials.
- Proofread and edit legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
3. **Client Communication:**
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and responding to inquiries under the supervision of the attorney.
- Schedule client meetings, court appearances, and other appointments.
- Conduct initial client intake interviews and gather necessary information for case development.
4. **Legal Research:**
- Conduct legal research on family law issues and provide summaries and reports to attorneys.
- Stay current with changes in family law and update attorneys on new developments and regulations.
5. **Court and Administrative Duties:**
- File legal documents with courts and other agencies.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for court appearances, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Coordinate and manage service of process, ensuring timely and proper service of legal documents.
6. **Team Collaboration and Support:**
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and successful outcomes.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to case strategy discussions.
7. **Compliance and Ethics:**
- Ensure all work complies with ethical and professional standards, as well as firm policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and client-specific information.
**Qualifications:**
- Paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of [2-5] years of experience as a certified paralegal in family law.
- Strong understanding of family law procedures, terminology, and regulations.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
