Boyd, Richards, Parker & Colonnelli, a civil litigation defense law firm, is seeking an experienced and motivated paralegal for its New York office, located in Midtown Manhattan. Qualified candidates must have 6-plus years' experience preferably with billing practices and in the areas of commercial, real estate, employment and personal injury matters. The candidate will work in a team-based environment handling cases from inception to trial and must possess strong organizational, analytical and writing skills. Position requires to be in office twice per week.
The litigation paralegal will work closely with and support our attorneys in handling litigated files in various areas of the law from pre-suit stages through trial.
Job duties may include:
- Prepare all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
- Prepare medical and billing chronologies in personal injury cases
- Draft and prepare required subpoenas and follow up on obtaining records
- Prepare binders including binders for depositions, mediations, hearing, and trial
- Handle all aspects of expert discovery
- Prepare trial disclosures
- Gather and investigate relevant information for the cases from a variety of sources
- Other tasks as requested by the attorneys
- Obtain, review and analyze documents, including financial records, tax and employment records, or any other relevant information
- Prepare for trial by preparing trial notebooks, exhibits, and witness files
- Compile evidence and supporting information by searching records, discovery documents, transcripts, libraries, and databases
- Coordinate with support services and clients, opposing law firms, and courts
- Collaborate with internal team to manage court docket calendar
- Generate status reports, logs, and indexes
- Correspond with clients and opposing law firms
- Legal research
- Perform additional duties as required
- Be a team player that works well with others
Job Requirements:
- This job requires you come into our Midtown Manhattan offices twice per week.
