ABOUT THE POSITION
The Theatre Manager positions will serve as the primary point of contact for events that take place at the Boyle County Performing Arts Center. Theatre Managers will be required to work flexible hours, including late nights and weekends.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires:
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate as required by Kentucky law.
- Theatre and / or production experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are listed for reference. Success will involve the ongoing demonstration of desire and ability to perform responsibilities effectively, efficiently, pleasantly and with a focus on student success.
- Attend theatre events as scheduled, including but not limited to rehearsals, productions and special events.
- Communicate with those who rent the facility and attend to specific needs for set-up and break down of equipment.
- Manage ticketing system and event-related logistics, including ticket sales and redemption.
- Recruit, train and manage volunteer staff.
- Maintain a working knowledge of technical equipment and assist with technical operations when necessary.
- Actively monitor individuals entering and leaving the theatre facility and grounds during events, including but not limited to actors, students, patrons and technicians.
- Provide an additional layer of protection and security by ensuring only authorized individuals are permitted access backstage and other closed areas of theatre.
- Ensure the facility is properly secured at the conclusion of all events.
- Oversee the implementation of related policies and procedures for facility usage.
- Consult with school administration if a problem should arise.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Designated seasonal theatre workers and volunteers.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Regularly required to use hands, fingers and arms.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and climb rigging equipment.
- Required to sit and climb or balance. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Requires activities involving being around, moving and operating heavy equipment and props.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate and occasionally loud.
