Position Overview
Reporting to the CHRO, the Vice President of Learning & Development will be a transformational leader responsible for building and executing our "green and growing" philosophy across the organization. This role will be instrumental in developing the next generation of servant leaders who will carry forward our multigenerational vision of forging a future where winter is an opportunity, not a constraint.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Design and implement company-wide L&D programs as a comprehensive learning ecosystem that reinforces our culture and values while developing technical and leadership capabilities
- Create innovative leadership development programs that cultivate Level 5 leaders and embed Servant Leadership principles throughout the organization
- Lead change management initiatives that support our long-term strategic priorities and flywheel momentum
- Partner with resort presidents and leadership teams to understand local market needs while maintaining consistency in development approaches
Program Development & Execution
- Develop scalable training solutions that support our "company of resorts" model, allowing for local customization while maintaining enterprise standards
- Design programs that reinforce our service basics and enable teams to create "wow moments" for guests
- Create curriculum that develops both technical expertise and cultural ambassadorship
- Implement measurement systems to track program effectiveness and ROI through employee engagement, guest satisfaction, and business metrics
Culture & Values Integration
- Ensure all learning initiatives reinforce our L.E.A.D.S. framework and support our multigenerational vision
- Design onboarding and cultural orientation programs that effectively communicate our values and heritage
- Create development pathways that support internal mobility and succession planning
- Foster a "green and growing" mindset through continuous learning opportunities
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's in HR, Organizational Development, or related field preferred
- 10 years of progressive experience in learning & development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated success building enterprise-wide learning programs that drive cultural transformation
- Experience in hospitality, ski industry, or similarly complex multi-unit service organization preferred
- Proven track record of developing high-performing teams and future leaders
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and emerging L&D technologies
- Excellent facilitation skills with ability to engage audiences from front-line to executive level
- Willingness to travel 30-40% to support our resort properties
