JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform various maintenance tasks to ensure our facilities are in excellent condition and operating smoothly. This role requires a hands-on approach to minor repairs, inspections, and upkeep, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. This role is expected to work Monday-Friday at a maximum of five hours a day.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks across the facility.
- Inspect control panels and electrical wiring to identify and resolve issues.
- Install appliances, equipment, and fixtures as needed.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including mowing the lawn, collecting trash, and general yard upkeep.
- Replace light bulbs and conduct other routine maintenance tasks.
- Assist in routine maintenance of Club vehicles.
- Maintain, clean, service, and properly store equipment and tools.
- Ensure functionality of safety systems, such as fire alarms and emergency exits.
- Inspect and repair damages to building surfaces, including walls, floors, and ceilings.
- Participate in renovation and other facility improvement projects.
- Report maintenance issues or concerns to the Facilities or Maintenance Manager.
- Adhere to quality standards, health, and safety regulations in all activities.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to Maintenance Manager; cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plans and completes job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment. Follows up as appropriate with supervisor regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns.
- Fosters good working relationships with staff, management, members, parents, and other professionals in order to meet objectives.
- Balances team and individual responsibilities; exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; gives and welcomes feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of team above own interests; supports everyone's efforts to succeed.
- Follows appropriate chain of command to address concerns and conflicts in a timely manner.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Worker or in a similar role (e.g., 5 years preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems preferred.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools and electrical tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform duties effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Physical work that will involve lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
