Job Summary
The Youth Development Professional plays a crucial role in fostering the growth and development of children and adolescents in a supportive environment. This position involves engaging with youth through educational and recreational activities, promoting social skills, and providing mentorship. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to their development.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement engaging programs that promote learning and personal growth for youth.
  • Supervise daily activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
  • Provide guidance and support to children in areas such as homework, social skills, and conflict resolution.
  • Foster positive relationships with youth, encouraging their participation and engagement in activities.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and well-being.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop innovative programming that meets the diverse needs of participants.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including administering first aid when necessary.

Experience

  • Background in early childhood education or related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with children in various settings such as camps, classrooms, or childcare facilities.
  • Skills in classroom management to effectively engage youth in group settings.
  • Familiarity with tutoring or educational support techniques is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in babysitting or similar roles is an asset.
  • Certification in first aid is a plus but not mandatory.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
