OUTDOOR EDUCATION PROGRAM STAFF
The Boys & Girls Club of Brattleboro is hiring Program Staff to work with our Program Director to run our licensed aftercare program for grades K-5 at the Retreat Farm’s Children’s Farm and Forest facility. The Program Staff work with the Program Director to care for the children and create a healthy and eco-friendly environment for our programming, focusing on nature, social emotional learning, and well-being. This person is a creative and hands-on leader who loves children and the outdoors and believes in the power of non-traditional learning experiences.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the team to build and grow this program.
- Maintain accurate records including attendance, incidents, and parent contact.
- Create a welcoming environment for parents and children.
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained.
- Works with the director to implement the activities for the program.
- Exercise sound judgment when working with children, staff, and parents.
This position maintains close, daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and embody organizational mission, program objectives, and standards.
Preferred skills, qualifications, attributes:
- Must have a valid Drivers license
- Must have a clean criminal history check
- Must be fingerprinted upon acceptance of the position
- Must have a current CPR and First Aid certification or be willing to obtain a certification
- Candidates must have a High School Diploma or actively working towards their degree
- College degree preferred but we will strongly consider candidates with equivalent experience in work with youth and youth-centered organizations in place of a degree.
- Previous experience working with children highly valued
- Must adhere to all COVID-19 regulations and guidelines and encourage/support participant compliance
Details:
This is a part-time, hourly position $20-$25. Pay and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience. Anticipated schedule is M-F from 2:00-6:00 PM. To apply, submit a cover letter and resume to jobs@bgcbrattleboro.org
