Job Summary:
The Tween and Teen Coordinator is responsible for implementing and expanding tween and teen programs under the direction of the Boys & Girls Club Director. This role will focus on developing local resources, fostering positive identity, and addressing areas such as education, employment, social and emotional development, health and life skills, civic engagement, and cultural competencies. The goal is to enhance the growth and success of tweens and teens within the Club.
Job Responsibilities:
- Program Planning & Development:
- Plan and coordinate year-round teen programs that foster personal growth and development.
- Identify and pursue BGCA funding and program opportunities.
- Gather input from tweens and teens through surveys to ensure programming remains relevant and effective.
- Mentorship & Leadership:
- Build rapport with tween and teen members to act as a mentor and role model.
- Guide members in leadership development, physical activity engagement, and academic success.
- Promotion & Advocacy:
- Promote the Club’s philosophies and mission, focusing on tween and teen programming.
- Assist in recruiting and leading teen members for programs, field trips, and special outings.
- Program Expansion:
- Work to grow and enhance the tween and teen program within the Club.
- Develop a Torch and/or Keystone Charter with the goal of attending annual conferences.
- Skills Development:
- Provide training and opportunities in employment, health, and life skills.
- Guide tweens and teens on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and community involvement.
- Community Engagement:
- Assist in promoting and implementing initiatives that help tweens and teens build positive self-identity.
- Represent the Club at local and national events, acting as a positive adult role model.
- Collaboration & Resource Management:
- Serve as a liaison with BGCA Tween and Teen Services to maximize available resources.
- Embrace volunteers from our corporate and community partners.
- Collaborate with other staff members at all levels to enhance programming.
- Maintain program equipment and supplies, making requests as necessary.
- General Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in staff and advisory meetings to address tween and teen needs.
- Assist in various projects as assigned by Club management.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
Additional Notes:
Please be aware that funding for this position is provided through a corporate partnership and is subject to renewal. While every effort will be made to continue the partnership, there is a possibility that funding may not be renewed after the current term.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one year working with children and adolescents, preferred at least one year of program management experience, especially in tween or teen programming.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong group leadership skills, with an understanding of group dynamics and classroom management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and interpersonal.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient with basic computer skills, including file management and troubleshooting for equipment.
- Flexible, patient, and willing to learn new skills.
- Ability to quickly establish rapport with tweens and teens.
- Capable of organizing outreach events, including high school recruitment presentations.
- Licensing/Certifications:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet state-required automobile insurance minimums.
- Must be able to obtain mini-bus certification (No CDL required).
Salary : $20
