What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Program Staff position at Boys & Girls Club of Huntington County?
M-F 3:30 PM -5:00 PM or 6 PM
Duties:
- Assist members with homework assignments and test preparation.
- Supervise groups of up to 20 members.
- Utilize effective strategies to engage members and promote a positive learning environment.
- Implement behavior management strategies to address any challenges or disruptions during tutoring sessions.
- Utilize knowledge of childhood development principles to tailor instruction to the age and developmental level of each student.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively explain concepts and provide feedback.
- Patience and empathy when working with members who may be struggling academically or emotionally.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills to plan lessons and track member progress.
- Knowledge of various subject areas and curriculum standards.
- Ability to establish rapport with members and create a supportive learning environment.
