POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Teen Director
HOURS: MTWR – 10:30 AM -7:30 PM F - 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates teen programs and activities.
JOB SUMMARY:
Engage and inspire young people to learn and grow to be responsible adults. Oversee the core programs of the
Club for ages 13-18 by ensuring the planning, developing and implementing of programs and activities that support the organizations standards. Must monitor and evaluate situations quickly using good judgment to assess situations and make decisions. Create and maintain a safe environment for teens and adults within the program space. Communicate with parents as necessary regarding behavior and Club events. This position will supervise teen program staff and volunteers and will also be responsible for administrative tasks as assigned by the Program Director, including management of staff, financial duties, and grant reporting. The Teen Director will typically work until 8 pm during the week and work at least one weekend per month.

Prepare Teens for Success
1. Establish positive and meaningful relationships with the Club’s teen population.
2. Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
3. Plan and implement programs, services and activities that support the organizational goals for the
Teen Program.
- Ensure programs and activities are implemented that promote the three priority outcomes areas: Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship and Healthy Lifestyles.
- Oversee at least two Boys & Girls Clubs of America targeted teen programs.
Plan, organize and implement daily, weekly and monthly FUN and IMPACTFUL age appropriate activities.
- PLAN, PREPARE AND PLAN SOME MORE!
- Promote and stimulate teen participation in activities.
- Supervise special weekly teen nights.
- Supervise monthly late teen night recruitment events.
- 5. Carry out academic enrichment activities and ensure completion of daily homework.
Health & Safety
1. Ensure a healthy, safe, clean and organized environment in program areas.
2. Ensure club youth are utilizing equipment and supplies in a safe and respectful manner.
3. Manage facilities and ensure a productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order.
Recruitment & Marketing
1. Ensure visibility of the teen program throughout the community.
- Visit middle and high schools weekly to promote teen events.
- Attend and participate in school functions when appropriate.
- 2. Utilize the teen social media accounts to promote teen events.
- Post daily.
- 3. Promote and stimulate membership within the Club by generating publicity for programs within the
Club and the Community.
4. Work with Director of Operations to set attendance and programmatic goals.
Internal/External Communication
1. Establish ongoing communication with Program Director.
- Recommend modifications that respond to member needs and interests to Program Director
- Inform Program Director when supplies are needed.
- 2. Communicate regularly with teen staff.
- Meet daily to go over schedule with teen staff.
- Meet weekly to go over programming planning and member updates with teen staff.
- 3. Communicate regularly with parents, principals and teachers regarding the needs of teens.4. Establish relationships with Teen Directors of Indiana BGCs to stimulate growth of program and collaborate on special events.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
