Status: Seasonal Part Time
Supervised by: Camp Director/Age Group Director
Hours: Monday-Friday: Hours will be assigned upon scheduling; Jun 23-Aug 15
JOB SUMMARY:
Summer Camp Counselors provide supervision, guidance, and activity oversight for campers in the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield’s summer camp program in a fun and educational manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be CPR Certified.
- 1 Year experience working with youth preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Commitment to a positive, fun, and team-oriented working environment.
- Demonstrated history of responsibility, dependability, and maturity.
- Ability to be flexible, creative, and adaptable to situations.
- Background Check Required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
- Provide supervision of campers participating in scheduled camp events.
- Assist Age Group Supervisor in set up and take down of camp activities.
- Assist in cleaning and upkeep of camp facilities.
- Assist Age Group Supervisor in resolving issues of interpersonal concerns between campers.
- Assists in the organization of games and maintains order at indoor and outdoor facilities.
- Assists in teaching the various games and rules of play.
- Assists in the preparation of activities such as arts & crafts, recreational sports, special activities, etc.
- Takes necessary precautions to secure safety of campers.
- Assists in housekeeping and maintenance at the camp facilities.
- Ability to report any and all incidents regarding camper safety, security, and well-being to camp leadership.
- Follows camp objectives, rules, policies, and guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to be on feet most of day while interacting with campers.
- Ability to lift/move, set up and store equipment.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment while maintaining order within the program.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.69 - $18.00 per hour
