TITLE: Early Learning Program Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Director
CLASSIFIED: Full-Time, Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The Early Learning Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily operations, planning, implementation, and supervision of all before and after school activities at the Boys & Girls Club for youth ages 4 to 6. This position is dedicated to ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children and youth, while actively promoting academic success, healthy lifestyles, and positive social interactions. The coordinator works closely with staff, families, and the community to provide high-quality programs that meet the needs of club members and align with the Boys & Girls Club’s mission. Additionally, the coordinator will be expected to engage with parents daily, providing updates on youth behavior, Club events, and other relevant information as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
- Manages daily operations of the ECE before & after school programs and summer program, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements, including ratios, documentation, and programming.
- Responsible for Early Learning program enrollments and memberships.
- Oversee and plan Early Learning programs, including scheduled no-school days and snow days.
- Collaborate with the Director of Food Operations and help maintain mealtime routines for childcare at the Clubhouse.
- Develop and implement the summer curriculum for the Early Learning program.
- Uphold the Club’s core values of excellence, impact-driven initiatives, teamwork, and good character.
- Handle the hiring, interviewing, and disciplinary actions of Club employees as assigned.
- Supervise designated staff, conduct 60-day performance reviews, and hold bi-weekly one-on-one meetings.
- Create and maintain staff schedules, ensuring adherence to licensing ratios in the Clubhouse Early Learning programs.
- Communicate professionally with parents via phone, email, and in-person conversations, fostering strong relationships.
- Track and manage the budget for Clubhouse Early Learning programs.
- Collaborate with the ECE Director to address youth behavior challenges and assist in creating and implementing success plans.
- Lead monthly training sessions for Youth Program staff and participate in monthly all-staff meetings.
- Oversee recruitment and marketing efforts for Clubhouse Early Learning programs.
- Manages the administration and management of early learning assessments, ensuring that assessment tools and methods align with developmentally appropriate practices and educational standards.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of early learners, using assessment data to inform instruction and support individualized learning plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, mental health providers, counselors, and families to communicate assessment outcomes, set goals, and implement strategies to support child development and learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of child development and early childhood best practices.
- Experience working with preschool students in a classroom or program setting.
- Knowledge of state licensing requirements for childcare centers.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field is preferred.
- Fluent in English and [another language, if applicable].
- Experience working with children with special needs.
- Knowledge of early intervention programs and services.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, parents, etc. at the Club to ensure the safety of the space and others, provide guidance and reflection per the Club priority outcomes and goals
- Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time throughout a shift
- Ability to operate various types of general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.
- This position is considered to be safety-sensitive.
