TITLE: Training Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources
CLASSIFIED: Full Time, Exempt
MISSION: To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
JOB SUMMARY: The Training Coordinator is responsible for developing, designing, implementing, and overseeing the training programs for all employees at all BGCNP locations, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. This role plays a vital part in the continuous professional development of staff by determining training needs, scheduling training sessions, and creating materials to meet training objectives. All Boys and Girls Club employees are expected to uphold the mission of the Club.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Training Schedule Management
- Develop and maintain training schedules for all employees from hire date and annually.
- Ensure timely notification of training sessions and adherence to schedules.
- Monitor and track employee training progress to ensure compliance with deadlines.
Needs Assessment and Training Selection
- Collaborate with managers and staff to identify priority training needs.
- Determine appropriate training programs and classes based on job roles and organizational requirements.
Content Creation and Materials Management
- Develop and update training materials, manuals, and presentations.
- Order and maintain training supplies and equipment as needed.
Coordination and Implementation
- Coordinate with managers and external training providers to deliver effective training programs.
- Facilitate training sessions as required, ensuring they align with organizational standards.
- Schedule and conduct meetings with management to proactively identify topics to be address or areas in need of additional instruction
- Attend monthly all-staff meetings and weekly 1-1meetings with supervisor
Monitoring and Reporting
- Track training completion and maintain accurate records of employee participation and certification.
- Measure employee's information retention rates by issuing assessment tests and quizzes on course materials
- Evaluate training effectiveness
- Track metrics to show effectiveness and compliance.
Compliance and Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory requirements to ensure training programs are compliant.
- Propose improvements to training programs to enhance employee development and organizational performance.
- Complete the annual Boys and Girls Club of America Impact and Safety assessments
- Exhibit the Club Values of excellence, impact-driven, teamwork and good character
Employment Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in training coordination, instructional design, or a related role.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems (LMS).
- Ability to work independently or with a team
- Experience with Paycor is preferred but not required
- Experience in demonstrating leadership and teamwork.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter showing initiative and adaptability in managing multiple priorities.
Work Environment:
This role is primarily office-based but will require occasional travel for training facilitation or participation in both internal and external training programs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and move around for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and transport training materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to operate various types of general office equipment including laptop, telephone, copier, etc.
- Must have the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers and parents at the Club with the goal of ensuring the achievement of the Club’s mission, goals and objectives.
- This position is considered to be safety-sensitive.
