POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager/Controller oversees all financial activities and functions of the organization including accounts receivable and accounts payable. Responsibilities include monthly closing of the financial records, reconciliation of all accounts and creation of the financial reports. Recommend and review detailed SOP’s for accounting functions and provide training to select administrative staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees and directs all financial management and accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and purchasing.
- Monthly and year-end close of financial statements.
- Assist with annual audit and other audits as needed
- Formulates, recommends and implements sound fiscal policies, procedures and controls.
- Develops and implements the financial infrastructure and systems needed to support the strategic objectives determined by the board.
- Works closely with the CFO to strengthen the financial position, evaluating industry best practices, in comparison to internal systems and resources, with an eye toward both financial needs and budget realities.
- Maintains effective communication of financial position with department heads.
- Fortify and build the competency and strength of the administrative team to ensure that select individuals are thoroughly trained and responsible for providing backup support for accounting functions, as needed.
- Works closely with President/CEO and CFO to develop annual budgets and provides regular reporting to program management staff and board of directors during the year to review actual to projected budget.
- Ensures regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding all the company’s financial affairs.
- Works closely with program directors to ensure that fiscal requirements for grants and contracts are identified, realized and monitored.
- Provide training to programming and administrative staff on financial policies and procedures including cash receipts, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and budgeting as needed or requested.
- Responsible for supervising and directing the activities of direct reports.
- Participate in special programs and/or events.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field

Minimum of 5 years of non-profit accounting including 3 years in a supervisory capacity strongly preferred

CPA in good standing strongly preferred

Proficient with accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite and other similar software.
Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
