Position Description
Title: Program Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Operations
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt $50,000
Primary Function
The Program Coordinator will design, develop, and oversee the implementation of the Kindergarten to Career Coaching Program, a transformative initiative for youth ages 5-24 in the Appalachian region. This trauma-informed program supports academic success, career exploration, executive function development, and personal growth. The Program Coordinator is responsible for program creation, staff leadership, partnerships, evaluation, and ensuring alignment with the goals of the Angell Foundation grant.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)
Program Design and Development:
- Lead the full development of the Kindergarten to Career Coaching Program, including its trauma-informed care strategies, academic support, and career readiness components.
- Establish clear program goals, curriculum plans, and measurable outcomes that align with the mission of the Boys & Girls Club and grant objectives.
- Develop robust partnerships with local employers, schools, and community resources to enhance program offerings such as internships, job shadowing, and skills training.
Program Implementation and Management:
- Plan and oversee daily program activities, including tutoring, mentoring, career exploration workshops, and executive function coaching.
- Integrate trauma-informed practices into all program components to address the emotional and developmental needs of participants.
- Ensure program spaces are safe, welcoming, and conducive to learning.
- Monitor and manage program outcomes, using data to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement.
Staff Supervision and Training:
- Recruit, supervise, and evaluate program staff, counselors, case managers, and career coaches.
- Provide professional development opportunities on trauma-informed care, youth development, and workforce readiness.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment focused on achieving program goals.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage program budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and in alignment with grant funding requirements.
- Track program expenditures, prepare financial reports, and maintain transparency with stakeholders.
Community Engagement and Public Relations:
- Act as a key representative of the program, building relationships with families, schools, employers, and community leaders.
- Promote program visibility through newsletters, local media, and community events.
- Serve as a primary contact for grant-related updates, ensuring goals and milestones are met.
Other:
· Perform other relevant duties as requested.
Skills/Knowledge Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, social work, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in program development, youth services, or organizational leadership.
- Proven ability to design and implement programs addressing academic, emotional, and career development needs.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices and experience working with underserved youth populations.
- Strong leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in data collection and program evaluation.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
Job Type: Full-time
