POSITON SUMMARY :
The Development Coordinator, under the supervision of the Development and Marketing Manager, manages the club's volunteer and internship programs, staffs events, and executes donor development strategies.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities) :
Volunteer and Internship Management (50%)
Recruitment
- Implement Resource Development strategies to recruit volunteers for programs and other
activities as needed.
Fill all volunteer positions required to meet program / grant requirements.Expand volunteer base through web-based promotions, college and university outreach, andcommunity outreach.
Build and maintain new and existing community partnerships, including with CSUDH.Coordinate volunteer teams for office projects, program support, special events, communityoutreach efforts, and facility maintenance.
Onboarding
Interview prospective volunteers / interns and match their talents with organizational needs.Process, organize, and maintain volunteer / intern paperwork.Collaborate with other staff to organize regular volunteer training as needed.Develop a robust volunteer orientation.Maintain updated SOPs.Volunteer Tracking and Stewardship
Execution and annual updates of the volunteer management plan.Develop and manage volunteer / internship recognition program.Track all volunteer hours and create reports.Maintain the volunteer database and work to integrate it with the donor database.Create and publish a quarterly volunteer newsletter in accordance with development strategies.Implement social media strategies to bolster volunteer efforts and recognition.Events (20%)
For Blue Door Bash, support the solicitation of auction items, event logistics, and stewardauction donors.
Develop event collateral and other creative materials such as flyers, presentations, graphics, QR codes.Collaborate with the Manager and Administrative Assistant in staffing and executing events throughout the year.Social Media and Marketing (20%)
Manage the content calendar.Create marketing flyers for BGCC programs and support with branding, social media posts, member recognition, and other mass parent communicationsContribute to the development of marketing strategies in collaboration with VP of Development and Marketing Manager.Execute marketing strategies in partnership with the Manager.Individual Donor Development (10%)
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans to cultivate donors, identify new prospects, and support a growing donor base.Track “moves” management using DonorPerfect.Assist with donor stewardship.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Participate in special programs and events as required.Provide support to other programs as needed.Perform additional duties as assigned.RELATIONSHIPS :
Internal : Maintains close, daily contact with development department to receive / provide information, strategize, discuss issues, and advise / counsel. Maintains regular contact with volunteers to ensure quality of experience.
External : Maintains close contact with donors, prospective donors, funding partners, and community organizations in order to initiate and guide the fundraising and donor process.
Requirements :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related fields and a minimum of 2 years of general office experience.Experience in database management, or other fundraising / CRM system is required.Specific experience in fundraising and donor management, including planning and executing fundraising campaigns and events.Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Canva and a general comfort level with technology, including web sites and social networking. Examples of design work will be required at final interviews.Experience with graphic design software for creating marketing materials and managing social media content visually.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Advanced verbal and written communication skills for crafting compelling outreach and marketing materials.Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners.Excellent time management and organization skills.Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment and provide customer-centered service when dealing with colleagues, committees, vendors, donors, and volunteers.The demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member on a team.Positive, youth-focused, team-oriented individual.Ability to consistently work a twelve-month position, including evening and weekend work as required.Must have reliable transportation to all work-related activities including evening and weekend work.A valid California State Driver’s License.ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Tasks are regularly performed with moderate exposure to environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, and temperature and noise extremes.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of standing for long periods of time, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and / or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (25lbs).
