Dance Instructor

Description

• Structures, designs, and choreographs  the content of all dance classes in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop styles of dance and any special events concerning the dance program, including but not limited to dance camps, recitals, etc.

• Recruits and encourages youth ages 6-18years old to participate in the dance program.

• Instructs and guides the students during all dance classes.
• Teaches appropriate dance techniques in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop styles of dance to members.
• Provides a positive role model for youth.
• Assists in tracking member participation, helps to document results and progress of members, and inputs daily program scans into the Kidtrax scanning system
• Reports all serious discipline problems to full-time staff immediately.
• Reports all accidents to full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D.    
• 2-3 years of dance training required
• Three years teaching experience required
• Must be willing to work with youth of ethnically diverse backgrounds.
• Have an understanding of developmental characteristics of youth.
• Be self-motivated, creative, energetic, and spontaneous.
• Good written and verbal communications skills.

Salary : $20 - $25
