PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Coordinator is responsible for supporting and assisting all aspects of BGCC fundraising, including management of current and prospective individual, corporate and foundation funders.
The Philanthropy Coordinator will be responsible for cultivating and soliciting prospective funders through proposals developed and drafted by this position. The Coordinator works in collaboration with members of BGCCs Advancement and Club Operations teams to identify funding needs; develop clear funding requests; and report out on the impact of support through quantitative and qualitative grant reports.
The position will additionally support events related to corporate and foundation partners to ensure a positive donor experience and to maximize fundraising potential for the organization.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
- Identify, prioritize, research and qualify prospective individual, corporate, foundation and government partners;
- Prioritize and lead written communication efforts including but not limited to proposals, letters of interest, grant reports, stewardship updates, grant tracking, project tracking and new opportunities in an effort to build new and expanded partnership opportunities and relationships;
- Using new and existing models, customize and develop compelling and creative proposals for corporate partnership support that meet the corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals of each company;
- Employ creativity and an entrepreneurial approach to generate and identify funding opportunities that match corporate and foundation interest in BGCC programs;
- Collaborate with BGCA and local club staff on programmatic and marketing deliverables required to support the relationships;
- Provide oversight of corporate and foundation renewals by creating innovative opportunities for existing donors to deepen their engagement with BGCC in meaningful ways;
- Provide support to corporate engagement activities and special events in coordination with the Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations and the Manager, Corporate & Foundation Relations;
- Track the moves management of current and potential partners;
- Track year-to-date and month-to-date corporate revenue raised and monitor the Corporate partnership pipeline, identifying potential risks to reaching the annual revenue target;
- Prepare written and oral reports for key organizational stakeholders, including board members, donors, prospects, volunteers and community partners, as necessary;
- Provide support as directed to corporations or foundations for the annual Holiday Gift Drive, Back-To-School drive or other in-kind donation initiatives;
- Support Board Development Committee efforts focused on corporate partnerships;
Qualifications
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- 3 years in a fundraising role.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience in successfully identifying, cultivating and soliciting funders along with a deep knowledge of fundraising principles and tactics.
- Advanced writing skills and the ability to write persuasively, clearly and concisely to blend information from multiple sources while maintaining a consistent message and aligning it with a donor’s interests.
- Experience and proficiency at managing projects and timelines self-directed with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications, including experience with communications in a professional environment.
- High level of integrity, interpersonal skills and diplomacy.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high personal standards for the quality of output.
- Ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities and approach work with a positive attitude.
- Advanced computer skills, including working knowledge of Raisers Edge, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
