Job Summary:
The KidsCare Area Manager oversees the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of activities provided in our KidsCare after-school programs, targeted towards elementary students. They will directly supervisor and oversee operations at designated school-based sites.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of activities provided in school-based, after-school programs.
- Manages communication with school staff, parents and guardians, and the community regarding KidsCare operations and general information.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of program supplies and materials, food supplies, and technology requirements for sites.
- Oversee and safeguard the collection of cash receipts and payment logs at designated sites.
- Responsible for managing staff schedules, time off requests, timecards, staff training, and responding to staffing needs.
- Maintain the health and safety of all children at designated sites by assuring program staff are adequately trained, that members understand and follow the behavioral expectations and that the facility requirements are met.
- Utilize and coach teams on Youth Development Strategies to support and enhance our member’s self-esteem and support their learning.
- Manage daily activities of reporting staff.
- Ability to uphold the organization’s mission and values.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a role supervising staff and school-aged children in a group setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated competence working with youth.
- Experience in program management, staff scheduling, leadership of program staff and participation in activities, goal setting, and program implementation.
- Experience working with youth with special needs and/or requiring mental health services
- Proficiency in using a variety of computer software applications, specifically Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities including supervisor of staff and children in program activities.
- Reliable transportation, safe driving record, active driver’s license, and automobile insurance
- Position may require standing/sitting for extended periods of time, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist, and ability to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 20lbs.
