In this role, you will manage and oversee the human resources functions for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County. This includes recruitment, compensation, benefits, safety, employee relations, performance management, and staff development. You will provide guidance to management on the development and implementation of policies and practices that comply with regulations and align with the organization’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community practices.
- Manage decision-making related to employee relations, staff development, compensation, benefits, recruitment, and related policies.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve HR policies and programs to align with organizational needs and enhance staff performance.
- Control expenditures, particularly in the areas of recruitment, compensation, benefits, and staff development, and implement proactive strategies to minimize employee relations costs.
- Oversee the recruitment and selection process to ensure the hiring of qualified staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining accurate recruitment records.
- Support and supervise the HR Generalist in recruitment, hiring, pay administration, benefits, leave management, and policy enforcement.
- Maintain close contact with Club staff and supervisors to exchange information, discuss issues, and provide advice and counsel.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Pass a Level II Background Check
- College degree or equivalent (SHRM-CP preferred)
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management
- Experience working with children and knowledge of youth development
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting HR management
- Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and internet navigation
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects alongside daily responsibilities
