OVERVIEW
The Director of Teen Services is a full-time position reporting to the VP of Operations. The position will serve as a key staff member responsible for implementing the design, coordination, and delivery of teen strategy at our Clubs and High School & Middle Schoolpartner sites. This position will work in concert with the Senior Director of Clubhouses and Programs to deliver high-quality, data-driven, and purposeful programs and services that enhance the lives of teenage Club youth and prepare them for higher education and / or careers. The Director of Teen Services will work directly with Teen Coordinators in developing goals and strategies and be responsible for leading all functions of recruitment, service, and programs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Commitment to Safety :
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment by maintaining facilities, equipment, and supplies, while also supporting program logistics, events, and training.
- Promote accountability to safety through consistent observation, adherence to all safety rules
- and practices and proactive communication among members, parents, peers, and leadership.
- Obtain and maintain Mandated Reporter training and complete annual Child Abuse Prevention training.
- Complete training and participate in all Emergency Preparedness protocols, including drills and communication practices.
Program Leadership :
Implement the teen program model, activities, and services that prepare youth for success and create an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes.Oversee the recruitment, training, supervision, and professional development of teen services staff, ensuring all team members have the tools and resources needed to succeed in their rolesSet clear expectations for staff performance, create measurable goals, lead bi-weekly team meetings, and conduct regular performance evaluations to drive accountability and continuous improvement.Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance program quality, safety, and efficiency.Strategic Planning :
In collaboration with the Director of College and Career Development, develop, implement and evaluate a comprehensive teen strategy that ensures high-quality age and gender specific programs and activities throughout the year that are consistent with the organization's youth development mission.Proactively recruit and develop a retention strategy for teen members to maintain an Average Daily Attendance of at least 50 teen members per teen club site and 140 teen members per teen school site per day.Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation using data management systemCreate outcome reports for program evaluation, resource development, and marketing materialPartnership Development :
Develop and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, school staff, local business, and key stakeholders to increase outreach efforts.Engage in and support community events, neighborhood associations, parent groups, committees, and groups that will raise awareness and enhance the teen strategy.Manage and cultivate relationships with volunteers, providing them with guidance and support to enhance their contributions to programming, while also creating opportunities for meaningful involvement that enriches the overall experience for teen members.Manage inquiries and events with corporate and community partners in collaboration with our resource development team.Collaborate with other community-based organizations to increase access to resources and best practices.Seek out enrichment and academic opportunities for the students including programs, scholarships, internships, extension classes, and community service opportunities.Contact and coordinate guest speakers from various professional fields to share information with members about careers and college experience.Resource Management :
Manage financial resources and assist in the development of the annual budget.Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the physical property and equipment of the Teen Sites.Public Relations :
Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of teen programs, services, and activities within the Teen Sites and the community.Ensure members are recognized, parents are informed, and community partners and schools are engaged in the Teen Sites' events and programs.Additional Responsibilities :
Purchase or approve purchases of supplies and equipment.Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments.Exercise authority in problems relating to members and personnel.May be required to drive Club vehicles periodically and must maintain appropriate driving record and up-to-date credentials.Assume other duties as assigned.EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Three (3) years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization managing staff and youth programs.Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and / or holidays.Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive data, and information.Ability to motivate, organize, and supervise youth in a safe environment and manage behavior problems.Ability to interface with the general public.Hold a valid drivers’ license and pass a motor vehicle driving record check.Pass criminal background checks.Pass (negative result) a TB test.Experience with youth development programming, planning, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating quality programs preferred.Experience with a rapidly growing and changing organization.Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred.Ability to work independently in an undefined environment.Excellent planning and organizational skills.Proficiency in office-based computer programs.KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY and SKILLS :

Travel between Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles sites and schools and various field trip sites as well as in the community is required. Must meet the insurance standards of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles.Hours are based on the school calendar and attendance patterns / trends – evening hours are required during the school year; hours will vary during summer and school breaks; occasional weekend hours are required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS :

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
