Position Summary:
The Area Director of Operations & Community Partnerships leads a group of assigned Unit Directors in overseeing Club operations, grant compliance, program development, and the achievement of organizational goals. This role is vital in driving the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida by ensuring the effective delivery of services, promoting staff development, managing budgets, maintaining facilities, and guaranteeing Club safety. Additionally, the Area Director plays a key role in fostering external partnerships and community engagement to support and expand organizational initiatives.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the development and execution of program goals, grant requirements, and operational standards for assigned Clubs to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate in creating and managing program budgets, ensuring the effective allocation of resources for special projects, and adhering to financial guidelines for expenditures.
- Directly support Unit Directors and staff by providing guidance on program design, community relations, and operational strategies. Foster a collaborative environment to meet program goals and continuously improve staff performance.
- Continuously assess the impact and effectiveness of programs, ensuring participation goals are met, and adjustments are made as needed.
- Play a key role in the recruitment, selection, and ongoing development of staff, ensuring they receive proper training and professional growth opportunities.
- Supervise the upkeep of facilities, ensuring all safety protocols are implemented and maintained while addressing any necessary repairs or improvements promptly.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with corporate sponsors, community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to drive community impact and secure support through sponsorships, donations, and volunteer initiatives.
- Develop and execute customized engagement opportunities such as team-building activities, volunteer days, and corporate sponsorship events that align with organizational goals.
- Create, implement, and oversee a robust volunteer program encompassing recruitment, training, scheduling, and recognition to ensure a sustainable volunteer base.
- Lead the planning, execution, and marketing of corporate engagement events, donor appreciation activities, volunteer initiatives, and other special fundraising events that further the organization’s mission.
- Collaborate with the Development team to produce impactful reports and recognition plans for corporate sponsors and donors, ensuring the cultivation of long-term relationships.
21st CCLC Specific Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Program, including staff training, reporting, and troubleshooting errors within the EZ Reporting system.
- Interface with the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) to meet program evaluation requirements, including the 21st CCLC Annual Performance Report (APR) and other federal/state reporting.
- Supervise and support Site Coordinators in the development and implementation of 21st CCLC programs, ensuring alignment with programmatic goals and compliance.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, or a minimum of 8 years of experience in nonprofit and operations management.
- 5 years of leadership experience in operational management, with progressively increasing responsibilities in multi-faceted program direction, strategic planning, and team leadership.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission, operations, policies, and procedures, with a proven ability to effectively manage a nonprofit organization.
- Maintain consistent communication and provide technical assistance to Unit Directors, Club staff, and volunteers to ensure smooth operations and professional development.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with club members, parents, vendors, external nonprofits, and community organizations to foster collaboration and support the organization’s mission.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills with an ability to motivate and guide teams toward achieving organizational goals.
- Proficiency in grant management and compliance, both on the programmatic and administrative sides.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to connect with staff, volunteers, community stakeholders, and corporate partners.
- Demonstrated success in multi-tasking, problem-solving, and delegating responsibilities to drive performance and achieve objectives with limited supervision.
- Proven track record in operational management, ensuring the safety and well-being of Club members while meeting grant and organizational goals.
Environmental and Working Conditions:
- The majority of work will be performed in an office setting, though frequent travel is required to oversee Club operations and community partnerships.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional bending or squatting.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
- High energy and stamina are required for periods of high activity.
- Strong emotional intelligence to manage both staff and stakeholder relationships.
