REPORTS TO: Assistant Branch Manager
Hourly: $20.00 to $21.06
HOURS: Part Time 0.75 (30 to 35 hours during School Year - Summer Program hours up to 40 hours per week)

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Assistant Branch Manager, the Teen Coordinator is responsible for implementing programs and activities for teens, including planning, promotion, and evaluation of those programs and activities. The position is also responsible for supervising the program areas, and the general operations of the site.
FUNCTION/TASKS
- Promote safety of members, quality in programs, and appearance of the branch at all times.
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
- Promote and stimulate program participation, welcome new members and participate in their orientation process.
- Participate in weekly branch staff meetings as required.
- Plan and conduct teen programs and activities. These programs include but are not limited to:
- Power Hour – Members get help with their homework while earning points towards
incentives.
- Project Learn – Through Project Learn, club staff use all areas of the club to create opportunities for high yield learning activities. These activities often include reading and writing projects, educational games such as Scrabble and math bingo, and homework and tutoring help.
- Keystone - Keystone is the Boys & Girls Club Movement’s ultimate teen program. This unique leadership development experience provides opportunities for young people ages 14 to 18.
- Torch Club - Torch Clubs are chartered, small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 11 to 13. A Torch Club is a powerful vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their life.
- Workforce Readiness Program - is a small-group program that is both practical and user friendly. It assists Club members ages 13 to 18 in exploring a career in youth or human services, particularly Boys & Girls Club work.
- Assure that there is a daily written schedule and that activities begin and end on time.
- Prepare weekly reports for the Assistant Branch Manager about activities, special programs, attendance and other reports as required.
- Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the program area at all times.
- Maintain close daily contact with club staff, club members, supervisor and volunteers to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and understand guidelines/instructions.
- Recruit new members to participate in the programs at the Club.
- Ability to meet grant funded outcomes for teen programs.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision in a fair and consistent manner; to include scheduling, coaching, providing feedback
- Knowledge of program & youth development process and experience working with youth and adolescents
- Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm and supervise youth in organized activity and open play situations
- Demonstrated success planning, implementing, and evaluating Education and Career Development programs.
- Group leadership skills including an understanding of group dynamics and ability to run group activities in the gym, games room, outdoors and on playing fields
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to facilitate the offering of programs and activities, as well as to promote them to youth, parents, and the public
- Ability to work effectively and productively with others and portray professionalism in all situations
- Ability to be consistent and encourage honesty, responsibility, fairness, sportsmanship and respect for all involved
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required – AA degree or higher preferred
- Competent with core functions, culture and issues pertaining to youth programs and development.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications – may be obtained on the job.
- May be required to drive agency vans. If so, Valid Driver’s license, verification of insurance and ability to successfully complete van driving; (21 years, clean driving abstract and pre approval drug screen)
- Must pass national criminal background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
To keep our staff safe we adhere to the CDC safety guidelines and remain in close communication with local health departments, program partners and local School Districts to work together to serve our youth in the safest way we can.

Skills essential for successful communications include speaking and writing. Physical requirements include sight, hearing, being active and on your feet for a minimum of four hours; adapt to changes in a highly energetic work environment; other duties as assigned.
Environment of the position: both indoors and outdoors; possibility of adverse weather conditions; noise, dust, pollen and insects; including contact with the public. Possible contact with dissatisfied and/or abusive individuals.
