Summary: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada daycare and preschool program, Smart Start, is seeking a seasoned childcare worker looking to pivot their career into a direction of shaping the programs for multiple centers ! Under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Smart Starts, the Program Administrator ensures that Smart Start Centers are meeting program quality standards, collaborates with all Smart Start staff to create a supportive and professional work environment for all center. This includes maintaining supporting staff with curriculum development and implementation; monitoring and upholding compliance with QRIS, health, Fire, and State licensing requirements; conducting site visits and classroom observations; identifying training needs; providing behavior support; and assisting with developmental screenings (ASQ, ASQ-SE, and Brigance, etc) as well as professional development plans for staff, and overseeing site budgets.

Duties (including but not limited to):

  • Provide coaching for teaching staff in all areas of developmentally appropriate practices, licensing regulations, QRIS, Smart Start policies and procedures, Positive Guidance (or Conscious Discipline/ Pyramid Model) for Social and Emotional Learning.
  • Review curriculum weekly and provide written feedback and coaching regarding developmental appropriateness, center enhancement ideas, and engaging implementation strategies.
  • Ensure teaching students undergo developmental screenings (ASQ, ASQ-SE, and Brigance) as required. Provide support for completion as needed.
  • Visit sites weekly to ensure sites are safe and nurturing environments that are clean, safe and welcoming. Report and replace items with approval from Executive Director.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with Executive Director of Smart Starts and Club personnel as needed. Communicate new initiatives and responsibilities, and other updates with leadership.
  • Manage program and activity reports and expenditures within approved budget for all centers.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested by Executive Director of Smart Starts.
  • Staff classrooms as needed and answer emergencies, as required.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with community partners, staff members, administrative team, and parents by consistently demonstrating Club values.
  • Answer phones and emails, responding within 24 hours.
  • Adhere to dress code policy by business casual and other apparel items as required for the position.
  • Comply with all licensing requirements and Smart Start protocols, procedures, and policies.
  • Maintain State licensing requirements for annual 24 hours of training.
  • Use words and body language that exemplify professionalism and show compassion for each child’s and family’s unique circumstances.

Requirements for Qualification:

· All employees must be 21 years of age and older and are required to submit fingerprints to local and federal repositories for background checks and provide a negative TB test prior to start date. The following will be reimbursed by BGCWN if all results are clear:

o Federal background check

o TB skin test clearance

High school Diploma or equivalent (Required)

Bachelor's or Associates in ECE or related field minimum of 3 years in ECE 6 months administrative experience or course or

  • Bachelor's or Associates in related field 15 semester hours of ECE/related 12 months in ECE 6 months administrative experience or course or
  • Diploma/GED w/15 semester hours in ECE/ related 2 years in ECE 6 months administrative experience or course or
  • CDA 2 years in ECE 6 months administrative experience or course

o Lead teacher, Assistant Director, or Director position in Early childhood education for at least 1-2 years (required)

· This is a full time, 40 hour a week position with occasional weekend events. (Staff development days are subject to different hours).

· Requirements for the duration of employment:

o Employees must take the State of Nevada required initial training within the first 90 days of employment.

o Employees must complete 24 hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related subjects every licensing year of employment.

· Proficient in using various computer software programs, including but not limited to electronic member tracking system, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

· Familiarity entering and processing enrollment applications, grant reporting, and balancing a budget.

· Required to attend and participate in various training sessions and staff meetings.

· Must possess excellent organizational skills, produce and provide data/reports in a timely manner.

· Must be reliable and punctual reporting to assigned tasks.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly desired.

Physical requirements:

· Must be able to perform duties which require walking, talking, hearing, standing, sitting, and bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel, run and/or climb.

· Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer, use the telephone and other office equipment.

· Must be able to lift, move, manipulate, and/or hold objects of up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45-pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving, lifting, or manipulating.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
