Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Project Manager/Estimator to join our dynamic team at BPG Electric. In this dual role, you will be responsible for managing electrical construction projects from inception to completion, while also estimating project costs and resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, project management best practices, and the ability to accurately forecast costs and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Oversee all phases of electrical projects, from initiation to completion.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, timeline, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints and maximizing profitability.
- Monitor project progress, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess project status and ensure quality control.
- Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders through reports and presentations.
- Mentor and support project team members, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Facilitate problem-solving and decision-making processes to address project challenges.
Estimating:
- Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical systems and installations.
- Evaluate labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs associated with the project.
- Prepare detailed bids for clients, including cost breakdowns and timeline projections.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop project scopes and accurately define project requirements.
- Conduct site visits to assess the existing conditions and scope of work to accurately estimate labor and material needs.
- Track and analyze project costs during execution, comparing estimates with actual expenditures.
- Prepare change order proposals and manage contract modifications.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in Project Management/Estimating
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, project management principles, and industry standards
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore and Microsoft Office Suite, Excel)
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
Work Environment:
- The position requires both office-based work and fieldwork on construction sites.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on the project locations.
