Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and certified Building Official/Senior Building Inspector to manage building department operations for one of our key clients in the San Joaquin County area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to day-to-day functions of a building department.
- Consult with engineers, architects, developers, contractors, and the public on construction and building code issues, respond to questions regarding codes and regulations.
- Plan review of minor projects for residential and commercial building, alterations, remodels, and additions.
- Perform field inspections on all phases of residential and commercial construction.
- Issue Certificates of Occupancy for completed projects.
- Create and maintain reports, plan review files, and inspection logs for all building projects.
- Maintain clients permitting database.
Requirements:
- Five (5) plus years as a building official or building inspector for a local or state fire or building department or equivalent related experience.
- Must possess knowledge and application of plan review and construction processes.
- Experience in the interpretation and application of building codes.
- Advanced knowledge of California Building Codes.
- ICC Certified Building Official certification.
