What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Inspector position at BPR Consulting Group?
BPR Consulting Group is seeking an experienced and certified Building Official / Senior Building Inspector to serve one of our key clients in the San Joaquin County area.
The successful candidates must possess the ability to work independently, communicate effectively and maintain professional working relationships with clients, coworkers, and permit applicants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Building Department operations for an assigned client agency.
- Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to day-to-day functions.
- Consult with engineers, architects, developers, contractors, and the public on construction and building code issues.
- Plan review of minor projects for residential and commercial building, alterations, remodels, and additions.
- Perform field inspections on all phases of residential and commercial construction.
Responsibilities also include issuing Certificates of Occupancy, creating and maintaining reports, plan review files and inspection logs, and maintaining clients permitting database.
Requirements:
- Five (5) plus years as a building official or building inspector for a local or state fire or building department or equivalent related experience.
- Must possess knowledge and application of plan review and construction processes.
- Experience in the interpretation and application of building codes.
- Advanced knowledge of California Building Codes.
- Good driving record.
Certification Requirements:
- ICC Certified Building Official certification.
- ICC Inspector certifications preferred.
- ICC Plan Review certifications preferred.
Compensation:
BPR Consulting Group offers competitive wages and has a strong benefit offering including automobile allowance.
$45 - $60 an hour.
