About the Role
The Payment Operations Expert will be responsible for managing payment operations, including reviewing and verifying payment instructions, coordinating with account managers, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Reviews and verifies payment instructions, ensures accuracy and completeness, and inputs information into the Letters of Credit/Documentary Collections system.
- Collaborates with Account managers to ensure proper processing of instructions, maintains accurate records, and performs necessary research and investigations.
- Follows up on instructions and documents provided by the Account Manager, keeps files organized, and provides exceptional customer service.
- Ensures that all names scanned against OFAC lists and other lists adhere to Bank Secrecy Act policies and procedures.
- Validates and processes payments, prepares and sends correspondence via regular mail or courier, and utilizes SWIFT and/or email to obtain and transmit information.
- Maintains control of new instructions or amendments received, reports discrepancies to interested parties, and takes corrective action as per policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two years of experience in payment operations or a related field.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and present information effectively.
