The Medical Health Technician will play a vital role in assisting healthcare professionals, monitoring client health, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for individuals recovering from mental health and substance use disorders.Key Responsibilities :
- Assist medical and clinical staff with patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and medication administration (as per licensure and regulations).
- Observe and report patient behavior, symptoms, and progress to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Support clients in their daily routines, ensuring adherence to program guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support when necessary.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
- Educate and support clients regarding treatment plans, medication adherence, and coping strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and program effectiveness.Qualifications & Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
- Previous experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or medical settings is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate care.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
