CAD Engineering Designer
(Middleville, MI) Design and prepare detailed drawings and specifications for manufacturing component parts and end products physical design, composition, and function using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Create, prepare, and revise complex 3D components/assemblies using Autodesk products and other PLM/PDM platforms. Prepare Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s), Bills of Materials (BOM's) and related engineering documentation for components/assemblies. Perform engineering and product cost analysis. Responsible for technical document management and control. Perform complex tolerance analysis and validation. Participate in design review activities and confer with other departments to establish and evaluate design concepts. Create prototype components/assemblies for testing and pre-production activities. Design and develop robust 3D models and detail drawings of complex mechanical components and assemblies. Analyze and improve designs for safety, manufacturability, failure modes, and customer function. Assist project leaders with costing analysis for new/revised parts and assemblies as needed per the ECO.
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 3 years experience in CAD Engineering Designer, Lead Consultant, or related position creating detailed drawings and BOM's for manufacturing products using CAD design tools required.
