What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Clerk - FT - Days position at BRADLEY MEDICAL CENTER LLC?
Hours: 8:30AM - 5PM
Days: Monday - Friday
JOB SUMMARY
Assembles and retrieves all medical records received and requested. Prepares the census according to established departmental procedure. Files and retrieves medical records, processes transcribed reports, late lab and x-ray reports microfilm processes ER records, HHC, etc. Thorough knowledge and awareness of work environment assuring a professional service and a high degree of quality at all times. To insure timely and accurate processing of all inpatient, observation and outpatient surgery discharged medical records and emergency room records.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School graduate required.
Licensure: None
Experience: One year of clerical experience preferred.
Skills: Clerical, communication and organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of medical record format and content for inpatient and outpatient visits.
- Ability to identify non-standard forms and determine action required.
- Ability to navigate the patient registration system.
- Ability to perform computer functions in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Ability to push or lift 30 pounds.
- Good verbal, written, and computer communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Adheres to the facility's confidentiality policy for all information related to patients, their family, staff, physicians and clients. Ability to prioritize workload and strong recall and recognition skills
