JOB SUMMARY
Performs a multitude of complex office procedures in support of the Pathology Department such as transcription, coding, billing, and specimen processing . JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Medical transcription training desired. Graduate of AHIMA Accredited HIA or HIT program with completion of basic coding courses is preferred.
Licensure: AHIMA or AAPC approved credential (s) RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CCA or equivalent is preferred
Experience: On-the-job training. Experience with dictating equipment desired. Experience with coding preferred
Skills: Typing skills. Medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD10, and CPT coding system knowledge desired.
