Bradley Professional is currently seeking an Estimator for our client located in Charlotte, NC.
This is a Direct Hire Position.
The estimator plays a crucial role in the company's design build process. The ideal candidate will understand Mechanical & HVAC construction means and methods. This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners involved in project development and bid proposal. This individual would ideally have prior experience in Mechanical & HVAC estimating functions within the commercial construction industry including : Large distribution and manufacturing facilities, low and mid-rise office buildings, churches, theaters, automotive dealerships, private medical facilities (excluding hospitals), and other similar projects. Experience with heavy industrial construction a plus but not required.
Job Duties :
- Estimating, preparing, and submitting bids in a professional and timely manner
- Communicate with material and equipment vendors for the procurement of pricing required for estimates and bids
- Review RFP documents and assist in generating material take-offs and labor estimates
- Identify and communicate to PM team long-lead time material and / or subcontractors to ensure timely ordering
- Attend Pre-bid / Post-Mortem meetings when required
- Identify risks and areas to clarify / negotiate paying close attention to state and federal document compliance
- Identify cross-sell opportunities and drive engagement process to maximize customer and company value
- Prepare and submit final proposals and bid sheets to Sales in a professional and timely manner
- Help develop and refine policies and procedures related to the bid process
- Manage schedule to ensure timely bid creation
- Work with other leadership teams when contracts are awarded to develop a complete project package, including all project documentation, bid budget, schedule, subcontracts, etc...
- Facilitate project hand-off for a smooth transition to Sales, and PM Operations
- Prepare capital cost estimates
- Coordinate with other departments, ensuring understanding of project objectives and efficient utilization of resources
- Remain current with technology and industry evolution, assuring that estimates anticipate the correct market and labor rate conditions
- Cross train in other disciplines to provide team coverage.
